We ask all patients and their family members to please refrain from wearing any perfume, cologne, after shave or heavily scented lotions or hair products.
THESE EXAMS REQUIRE PREPARATION:
If your exam is not listed in here, means that there is not preparation needed for the exam or procedure itself.
Abdominal ultrasound (adult or pediatric), Aorta and Renal Artery Stenosis
- No food for 8 hours before the appointment. Water as little as possible.
- Necessary medication can be taken with as little water as possible.
- If there has been any other Images done on the body part to examine, please bring such.
Breast
- Patient is required to provide prior radiological reports and/or images (mammography and/or other outside ultrasounds)
- Appointment will be cancelled if patient doesn’t provide the necessary documents listed above.
Thyroid / Lymph nodes
- If there have been any other radiological reports and/or Images done on the body part to examine, please bring them.
Musculoskeletal
- Please bring prior radiological reports and/or images relevant to the Body part been examined here.
Transabdominal pelvic ultrasounds and any obstetric ultrasound under 14 weeks
- Please drink 24 oz -32 oz of water 1 hour prior to appointment. Don't empty the bladder
Pediatric pylorus
- Baby needs to be fasting for max of four hours prior to the appointment., Please bring a bottle, baby will need to be fed by bottle during the ultrasound
Renal / retroperitoneal us
- No food for 8 hours before the appointment.
- Drink 36 oz water 1 hour prior to the appointment. Do not empty bladder
- If there has been any other Images done on the body part to examine, please bring such.
Sonohysterogram
- Exam scheduled between day 5 and 10 of menstrual cycle. Post-menopausal patients can be scheduled at any time.
- Patient cannot have an IUD (intra-uterine device like Copper T). If cycle is irregular, a negative pregnancy test result is necessary 24-48 before the appointment.
